Journey to Hanumanasana: A Front Leg Split Yoga Workshop
Saturday April 19, 2025, 1:30-3:30 pm
Investment: $45
Join Susan Kniseley-Foy for a thoughtful and enriching journey toward Hanumanasana — the front leg split — inspired by the legendary leap of the monkey god Hanuman in the Ramayana. While the full expression of the pose is powerful and beautiful, this workshop emphasizes the journey rather than the destination.
Through mindful movement and breath, you’ll explore the physical and mental benefits of this deep stretch. You'll improve flexibility in the hips, thighs, and hamstrings, release tension, and even support circulation and vitality. Emotionally, working with the hips and hip flexors can bring a sense of lightness and release, as we let go of stored tension and stagnant energy. Rather than pushing your body into a specific shape, we’ll explore the use of the breath and props to unfold each movement, staying curious, and open toward your unique process.
Let this practice remind you that flexibility of the body begins with flexibility of the mind — you never know what you’ll discover about yourself. Are you ready to leap into this empowering journey?
