Tame the Flame: a Pitta Balancing Yoga Workshop
Saturday, June 28th, 2-4pm
Investment: $45
In the science of Ayurveda - a sister science to Yoga - there are three constitutions (called doshas) that balance the world: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Pitta is ruled by the elements of fire and water and is particularly dominant during the season of Summer.
When in balance, Pitta energy exudes clarity and purpose and is able to lead us towards manifesting a vision or accomplishing a goal. But, when Pitta is out of balance, we may feel anger, judgment, inflammation in the body, and an extreme need to control. On our yoga mats, excess Pitta looks like pushing ourselves beyond healthy boundaries, extreme physicality, and burnout. In this workshop we will use our yoga practice to ‘tame the flame' by cultivating its opposite: cooling, structured, and gentle sequences that diffuse our intensity.
Join this workshop to soothe your inner fire one cooling breath and posture at a time.
